Jan Merritt Skopes, BHS ’73, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, after being diagnosed with cancer less than a year ago. She was 65, and was a resident of Thousand Oaks.
Jan is survived by her husband, Michael Skopes, and her son, Harrison Skopes. She is also survived by her older sister, Lee Merritt Intiso, BHS ’70, Lee’s husband, Frank Intiso, and Jan’s niece (Lee’s daughter), Andrea Intiso.
Jan grew up on Amber Lane just off of Eton Dr., and attended Thomas Jefferson Elementary, John Muir, and was in the BHS Class of ’73.
She was the smartest kid in the smartest class in the history of Jefferson Elementary. She was great.
