Big John was a giant of a man whose heart was only dwarfed by his size. Anyone who knew him, remembers him as a gentle giant who never had a bad word for anyone. He had been looking forward to retirement, but God had other plans and called him home. His only concern in life was taking care of his daughters, Kezia and Haley, and although he won’t be there physically, he made sure they would be well taken care of with his passing. Big John was taken far too early by a stroke and heart complications, but he has laid his burdens down and gone home. You are already missed Big Brother. I know you’re at peace, but you will be grieved on this side for some time. For Kezia and Haley, know that your Dad will be watching over you for all of your lives. He will be that silent feeling that urges you on. That word of advice deep in your heart when you are troubled. He will a moment of peace during the storms of your life. When life seems overwhelming, when that darkness around you seems to be too much, stop and listen, your Dad will be that still small voice that says, “I am here, and I love you, You can do it.” He will love you throughout eternity.

FACEBOOK POST AND PHOTOS FROM SHERRi'S HUSBAND STEVE...

Thank you to everyone who have been there and helped her through this long battle. There is no bigger sorrow than someone going away forever. Our family regrets to announce the end of Sherri’s journey here on earth. We mourn the loss of one of the strongest women I’ve known. Sherri lost her battle with cancer after many hard fought years of surgeries and treatments but she never gave up. She was an AMAZING mother to Sara and Stephen, wife, friend, sister, aunt, daughter and police officer. We are so sad, but just know she left us with some amazing memories. She was preparing us for this inevitable day and tried her best to create a life for our family that would be a foundation for our children to be successful in life. We will be forever thankful for how she took care of us. I would like to thank all her friends and family for your love and kindness to Sherri and our family. Please remember Sherri for the beautiful, strong, caring, loyal person she was. She did her job here on earth and we will leave the rest to God in Heaven❤️. Rest in peace mom- you deserve it. The Egans ( Steve, Sara, and Stephen)

Mike was a very kind, easy going, loyal, and likable person. He was a very good electrician. He worked for his brother, Kevin, at KB Electric for many years. It is unfortunate that we lost mike at such a young age.

1 killed, 5 injured in Palmdale traffic crash

PALMDALE – A 47-year-old Lancaster woman was killed Tuesday evening when a pickup truck crossed into oncoming traffic and caused a four-vehicle collision in Palmdale, authorities said.
It happened around 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, on Pearblossom Highway, just west of 40th Street East, according to Deputy Danielle Day of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

“During our preliminary investigation, we determined that the driver of [a] white Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound in the No. 1 lane of Pearblossom Highway. The driver veered off into the No. 1 lane of the westbound traffic of Pearblossom Highway and collided head-on with the driver of [a] black Honda Accord,” Day said.

A westbound Chrysler 300 hit the rear driver’s side of the Honda Accord and then sideswiped the Honda Accord during or just after the head-on collision between the Accord and the pickup, said Sgt. Tucker of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.

The Ford pickup truck then came to rest against a westbound Honda Civic hatchback, Tucker said.
The Accord’s passenger, 47-year-old Shyrell Lynn Hamner of Lancaster, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. The Accord’s male driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, sheriff’s officials said.

The Ford pickup truck’s driver was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Tucker said.

Three occupants in the Chrysler 300 sustained minor injuries — two females were transported to the hospital and a male declined to be transported, Tucker said.

The Honda Civic’s driver complained of pain but was not transported to the hospital, according to Tucker.

Neither alcohol nor weather appeared to be factors in the collision, sheriff’s officials said.
The incident remains under investigation and no further information was available Wednesday morning.
