David Goodman, BHS '94, Passed Away March 2022

On April 15, 2022, Trevor Marca postd in Facebook:

I'm posting this on behalf of Jaqueline Zaldivar. Her husband David Goodman passed away in March of 2022. His wife tells me he was a wonderful husband and father. After graduating from BHS in 1994, he served in the US Army.

David was the Foothill League triple jump champion in 1994. More importantly, he was a great friend and teammate. He was positive and supportive and wore this great big smile that endeared him to all. I was 2 years younger than him, and I'll always remember him taking notice of my hard work and improvement and congratulating me on my success. That type of praise goes a long way for a 15 year old kid, as you can see it's still meaningful to me almost 30 years later. It's a sad time for Burbank High, as we lost one of our great alumni.

 RIP David.

Mike Bass, BHS '86 (1968-2017)

Tina Bass posted this on Facebook today...

Let's remember Mike Bass Class of 1986 today. I was blessed to have him as my husband for 15 years. ❤️πŸ™
Here is Mike's page on Find a Grave
June 13, 1968 - April 18, 2017 (aged 48)

Mike was a very kind, easy going, loyal, and likable person. He was a very good electrician. He worked for his brother, Kevin, at KB Electric for many years. It is unfortunate that we lost mike at such a young age.

Jean Lofing Martin, BHS '65 (1947-2022)

Jean Elizabeth Lofting Martin
 October 16, 1947 - March 19, 2022

Sadly, we just learned of the passing of Jean. Jean was voted "Most Talented", along with Joey Sinda, in 1965.  She loved drama and singing, and shared the role of Eliza Doolittle with Sharon Williams in the 1965 production of "My Fair Lady". I remember seeing her in My Fair Lady and she had a gorgious voice... so talented! Below is the email sent from Jean's husband, Phil Martin:

I am sorry to inform you that my wife, Jean Lofing Martin BHS 65, passed away very peacefully on Saturday afternoon, March 19, 2022 (at age 74).  She was at our daughter's home in Sparks, NV.  She was not under a doctor's care for any reason, but told our daughter that she was a little tired that week.  Our daughter tried to get her to go to see a doctor but Jean declined.

Jean and I spent a lot of time going between Sun City, AZ (our retirement home since 2004) and Sparks, NV as we had a son, daughter and grandkids living in the Reno/Sparks/North Tahoe area since 2013.  Our youngest son lives in Big Sky, MT.  Jean and I had our 50th wedding anniversary celebration in Sparks in June 2021 (we were married in Burbank in 1971).

Jean had worked at Pacific Bell/AT&T for 30 years before her retirement.  We lived in Concord, CA (east of Oakland) where we raised our kids.  I was working in Oakland for 30 years and Jean worked in suburban AT&T locations.  We loved taking many getaway trips to Monterey/Carmel, the Napa/Sonoma wine country, Lake Tahoe, and all over northern California, and of course back to Disneyland many times.  We were also able to take numerous trips to Europe and Israel in 1985, 1989 and 2002-2007.

RIP Jean.

Jack Carroll, BHS '65 (1947-2020)

Jack Carroll 4/18/47–4/26/20 was born in Glendale, CA, the son of George & Wanda Carroll (deceased) and brother of Gwen Kramer (deceased).

He graduated from Burbank High School in 1965 and married his high school sweetheart, Geraldine Russell (also BHS 65). He was a devoted husband and father, and a trusted friend. Jack and Jeri resided in California for 59 years before retiring to Prescott, AZ in 2006.

He took pride in his 36-year career working for Lockheed Aircraft Co./Lockheed Martin. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends doing his favorite things, which included boating, fishing, RVing, dune buggy riding, off-roading, target shooting, banjo playing and driving his classic yellow corvette.

Jack is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeri, son Christopher and daughter-in-law Lori, daughter Tracey, as well as many wonderful cousins and friends.
