Dave was the nicest person you could ever meet. I knew him for 20 years as a member of the American Society of Gas Engineers. Dave was always willing to help with any project we had. He will be missed.

I was so sorry to hear that David passed away. He was such a delightful person. I am so honored to have known him. He spoke so highly of Peggy, his children, and his grandchildren. They were so special to him. May you rest in peace David. You will be missed by all but will remain in our hearts forever.

Cathy, I happened to be the very first person that David met when he moved from Zion, Illinois to Burbank when he was 15 in June of 1961 with his parents and oldest sister, Barbara. I was the young neighbor kid down the hill, and happened to be at their home with David's dad when David arrived that first day with his mother, sister, and aunt after they drove from Illinois. I can picture that as if it were yesterday... I was at his wedding in November 1966 to Peggy Skow, BHS '66, who lived further down the street from both of us. I thought David and his two older sisters would live to very old ages, since their dad lived to be 93, and their mother lived to be 99 1/2 when she passed away in March 2009. I visited David's parents three times in North Carolina over the years, after they moved there from Glendale in 1980 to be near David's other older sister, Susan, and her family. The news of David's death last Saturday made me feel pretty old now, plus very sad.

Cathy, thought of a couple more things to mention about David. Being born on January 1 of 1946 he was the oldest of the Baby Boomers - since anyone born on 1-1-46 is one of the very oldest Baby Boomers, which were born from beginning of 1946 to end of 1964, as most of us know. David's middle name, "Warren", was his mother's maiden name. Also, he always took very good care of his cars, and when I was 9, 10, 11 he would talk to me while he let me watch him wash his car, which was washed fairly often! His first car was a blue '61 Falcon, which he had all fixed up. Then he got a red '64 Ford Fairlane, which he had really fixed up! He had it while he attended Glendale College. He had that car when he entered the Air Force in '66 and was at Lackland AF Base in Texas. As soon as he and Peggy were married they left for Greece where he was then stationed for the AF. The red Fairlane was then sold! While they were in Greece their oldest son, Michael, was born there in 1968. At David's passing last week he and Peggy had a wonderful marriage of more than 47 years. I feel so badly for Peggy and their sons, their wives, and grandchildren.

My heart is broken into a million little pieces over the loss of my beloved David. He was the best husband, father, and grandfather in the world, and was loved by many, many people. We miss him terribly, but we are comforted knowing that he is now resting in peace in the arms of our Lord.
