Crushing news. Paul’s dad, Bob, was my stepfather’s best friend. They came to California from Peoria, Illinois in the ‘50s. Paul was a combination big brother and best friend.

I last saw Paul at Kathleen Bryan’s Celebration of Life last November. He was still as handsome as I remembered him from High School. Every girls’ Dreamboat! He had looks, personality, charm and was always a gentleman. Paul always did the name tags for his Class of ‘65 Reunions. So glad I got to see & talk to him last November. Blessings & prayers to his family. He will be sorely missed. ❤️πŸ™πŸ»❤️

For those of you who can still look back and remember your High School days, there were the Jocks, the Brainiacs, the Misfits and that select group of the really popular classmates. Paul Hacker was one of those guys that had it all! He was popular, good looking, friendly to everyone yet unpretentious. He had a smile for everyone and offered a kind word to all. Paul exemplified everything that was good about the BHS Class of ‘65. His dedication to the Reunion Committee was just another attribute to his personality. I am proud to have called him my friend.

  2. I knew Paul for about 60 years. He was my brother Adam's best friend. Paul, Randy Peak, Dennis Price, John Lowrey, and Bruce Fossler were considered family. Paul was in two words: A-Mazing. He was an icon to me. We all say the phrase "He's a nice guy." We say it so much about people that it loses its meaning. Paul was the personification of those words. He was like a Swiss Army Knife, he could do anything. He was never boastful, never self-aggrandizing, or pretentious, even though whatever he did was always deserving of being like that. He was smart, perceptive, treated people well, and never lost his cool, rarely used profanity. He was extremely blessed and modest about it. We loved him, my parents adored him and he made them laugh and enjoy life. He was my brother's unofficial brother. He was a walking success, not only in business, family, and talents, but he was one in a billion. My brother and I have countless anecdotes and stories to tell about what him. Suffice it to say this, with energy, enthusiasm, and creativity Paul made life less stressful and more joyful for everyone around him. He made my life richer by being a role-model and mentor.
If you knew him, you knew he was special and one-of-a-kind. One of the things that was funny about him was practically every girl/woman was infatuated with him. He had the looks, the style, and the charisma that attracted women like lead to a magnet. I always told him he was catnip to women. And he was, but never realized it. He was the incarnation of "coolness." He won the good-looking gene contest and again, never exhorted or bragged about things. He just had what everyone calls "it." Each life is touched by others. With some, the touch is warm and friendly and lingers forever. That is how Paul was to Adam and I. We are devestated and heartbroken by his passing. To his loving wife, Jill, and his wonderful kids, we extend our sincerest condolences. Our deepest sympathy to you at this painful time. Deeply sharing the grief of your loss. God's peace to you all, and holding you close in our prayers during your time of sorrow. We lost a great one, and I know my brother has much to say, but is still grieving and agonizing and unable to write. May Paul's spirit find as much joy in the journey as he found in life. To Paul: Forever in our hearts...never forgotten.
