Yesterday we a very hard day as heaven gained a new angel.  I love my Dad, Scott Schweitzer so much!  He was a great man!  He was always cracking jokes, expressing his love, and doing anything he could to help someone out. He took us camping, snowboarding, wakeboarding, many beach trips, and so much more to make sure we loved the outdoors as much as he did. I can't listen to Bob Marley without thinking of our drives to Ventura and finding our secluded spot on the beach. He always looked at the bright side of things- with a motto "it could be worse." I already miss him😭🙏 I love you Dad🙏❤️. Hope you're eating great meals and running around like crazy now🫶🥹

Firefighter/Paramedic Scott Schweitzer Calls it a Career

Burbank Firefighters, family friends and fellow city employees gathered this past week in the day room of the Fire Headquarters of Station 11 to wish retiring Firefighter Paramedic Scott Schweitzer all the best.

Schweitzer came on the Burbank Fire Department January 10th 1983, a year later he was made a permanent employee January 10, 1984 and only a year later he promoted to be a Paramedic, which he remained all 29 and a half years he’s been with the Burbank Fire Department. Scott a lifelong Burbank resident, along with his wife Laurie, have three children. A son Matt, and two daughters, Krista and Breanne and all were in attendance to see their dad retire after serving the city.

Back in November of 2003 Schweitzer was awarded The Medal of Valor Award, the highest award the Department gives for his involvement in the Matthew Pavelka incident.Scott looks forward to his retirement days Golfing, Cycling and Running.Thank you Scott for taking care of thousands of Burbank residents the past 29 1/2 years.
