This is my father, David S. Fernandez who graduated from Burbank High School Class of 1953. My father passed on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from Parkinson's Disease. Vicki parents were Peter James Condos (1925-2009) and Carol Condos (1933-2014). She excelled in school and as a senior, was a Burbank High Sealbearer, one of 20 in her class that was a member of the California Scholarship Federation for four semesters.

In 1984, she married Randy Shelford and they had two children.

Francis next married Janine Caron, daughter of Léo Weiner and Liselotte Heymann. (Janine Caron was born on 25 Jul 1935 in Paris, France.)

 

Jackie had 3 siblings and was married with one child. She lived in Studio City, California. At 49 years of age, tragically, Jackie committed suicide. She had ovarian cancer.

Jill Dee Thompson Turner, BHS '70 (1952-2021)

Jill Thompson Turner passed away in the arms of her husband, John, and into the arms of her Lord on Friday morning, July 23, 2021, on her 69th birthday, surrounded by family members, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, after a valiant fight with breast cancer for over a year.

 

Jill and John Turner (JBHS '68) have been married for 48 years, and have lived in Colorado Springs for many decades. Growing up in Burbank Jill and her family lived in the 900 block of Walnut Ave. She attended Emerson Elementary, John Muir Junior High, and graduated from Burbank High in 1970.

 

Jill Thompson Turner was foremost a Christian, and a wife, mother, grandmother, business owner, and a proud American. Jill is survived by her husband, John Turner, two children, three grandchildren, and her younger sister, Teri Thompson (BHS '72). Jill was predeceased by her parents, Al and Jackie Thompson in 2007.

John Hoehn, BHS '71 (1953-2015)

John Walter Hoehn 

April 9, 1953 - September 2, 2015 

After high school graduation, John went to work as a custodian with the City of Burbank then library clerk at Burbank Central Library. His mother Viola (Mauldin) Hoehn was a long time employee with the City of Burbank. 

Rich Morrison wrote, "I worked with John at the library. I was employed there part time from 74-78 while attending college. I attended John's wedding in 1981. He survived a brain tumor in the 1980s. I lost contact when I moved to GA. He died from heart disease. He's survived by his wife Dale. He moonlighted as a DJ during the disco era. RIP!"

Sad news from Ernestine Connolly who wrote that her husband, Daniel, passed away last year. He was a computer technician and he loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, music and photography.

We recently learned of the sudden passing of Linda Baldino McKendry back in 2004 due to congestive heart disease.

She has many friends and family that love and miss her including her brother Frank Baldino, BHS '73 and cousin, Joe Baldino, BHS '66.

Denzil graduated from Burbank High in 1948 and became an electrician.

Dennis Fischer, BHS '65 (1947-2021)

Sad news... Dennis Fischer passed away after a nearly three year battle with esophageal cancer.

 

Dennis was a Burbank Police Officer and Facebook friend Susie Sheffield-Evans shared, "Dennis was a kind loving soul. I loved working with him at BPD. He came to my parent's house just to calm my father down. My father was then at the end of his life with cancer and was hallucinating thinking we (my mom and I) were going to have him arrested. Dennis and Ron Cervenka came and stayed for about 3 or 4 hours"

All are welcome to the Memorial for Dennis Fischer this Saturday, July 10th - 11am  at Calvary Bible Church, 1101 S Main St, Burbank, CA 91506.
