RIP Kathryn.
My Mom, Carolyn (Wolf) Jeys, spoke often of her best friend, Kathryn O'Brien, and we wondered what happened to her after graduation. Mom had to move halfway through her senior year at BHS, to very rural Delhi, CA, and missed her friends back in Burbank very much, especially "Katie." She adapted to the new place eventually, and spent the rest of her life in nearby Turlock, CA.
ReplyDeleteMom passed of complications from pneumonia on 9/9/24. We had spoken of Kathryn shortly before, and of Mom's desire to know what had become of her. I promised I would try to find out, but with all the hustle and bustle of being her hospice caregiver, I forgot and never thought to check for a BHS page on the internet where I might find this information. Tears are streaming down my face as I realize how easy it was to find out what happened to Mom's old friend. I guess I fulfilled my promise, just too late.
