Robert Alan Irey, BHS '64 (1946-2016)



Sadly, we have lost another Classmate from BHS '64. Robert "Alan" Irey passed away after a lengthy illness. Below is the obituary...

Robert Alan Irey was born on July 7, 1946 and passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016.

Robert was a resident of Lake Havasu City, Arizona at the time of his passing.

Robert attended Burbank High School and then continued on with his schooling when he entered college and earned his Doctorate degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic.

He was married to Beryl.

A memorial service will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 2:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lake Havasu Humane Society or the Make A Wish Foundation.RR

On a personal note, Jon and I would like to extend our sympathies to Alan's wife Beryl and their children. Alan was a great guy with a wonderful attitude and sense of humor. He will be missed by so many.

Robert Irey  
July 7, 1946— Sept. 25, 2016 
 
Robert “Alan” Irey, 70, of Lake Havasu City passed away Sept. 25. He was born to Robert and Mabelle Irey on July 7, 1946. Robert attended Burbank High School and then continued on with his schooling when he entered college and earned his doctorate degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic. He then went on to become a successful self-employed chiropractor. 
 
Alan married his lovely bride, Beryl, in Sunland, Calif., on March 15, 1980. Alan was a member of the Presbyterian Church, past president of Magnolia Park Optimist Club and the London Bridge Optimist Club. Alan also enjoyed being a member of the Mohave Search and Rescue team for five years, London Bridge Amateur Radio Club and the Elks Lodge. Alan had a love for shooting, cooking, ham radios, flying, reading and playing with his dogs. 
 
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mabelle Irey. Alan is survived by his wife and best friend, Beryl Irey of Lake Havasu City, sons Matt (Tara) Irey of Anaheim Hills, Calif., Robert (Laurel) Murrieta of La Crescenta, Calif., daughters Heather (Dave) Cohen of Long Beach, Calif. and Leah (John) Horrigan of Sunland, Calif., 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his loyal companion dog Sandy. 
 
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lake Havasu Humane Society or the Make-a-Wish Foundation. A memorial service is set for 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1 at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Chapel.
