Dinah Duffy Martini borne as Dinah Duffy to Charles Morris Duffy and Lucile Mardaga Duffy in Buffalo New York on August 18,1946, died December 1 at Overlake Hospital in Belleview at the age of 75. The cause of death was complications from acute leukemia. 

When Dinah was three the Duffys moved from Buffalo to Burbank California where she grew up attending Burbank schools through high school graduating in 1964. She then enrolled at the University of California Berkeley earning a degree in education and a teaching certificate in 1969. During her time at UC Berkeley she met Steve Roberts and soon after married him. The couple moved to Boston where she taught primary school in Cambridge while Steve earned a PhD in geology from Harvard. After Boston they moved to Butte, Montana for four years while her husband worked for Anaconda Mining Co. He died in 1979 in a river rafting accident. 

Dinah then moved back to Burbank and onto Berkeley starting a career as a stockbroker and financial planner. She ended up in the Napa Valley working with Emmet Larkin, a small brokerage firm based in San Francisco, as their agent in St. Helena, California. There she met Peter Martini in 1985 and they were married in 1987. She continued her business while Peter worked for his family winery, Louis M. Martini. While in the Napa Valley Dinah taught classes in financial planning for adults and formed four women investment clubs. 

In 1992 Dinah and Peter enrolled at Golden Gate University and earned MBAs, after they moved to the Seattle area. At the age of 55 while living in Washington, Dinah attended the University of Washington and received a PhD in economics in 2002. Her PhD thesis on the rate of change for tractor power replacing horse power for Midwest agriculture from 1932 through 1942 was published in The American Journal of Economics.  

Dinah has no children but is survived by her husband of 33 years; Peter, her twin sister Suzanne Duffy, sister Trish Amin, Brother Chuck Duffy, and five nieces and nephews, Carlen, Darien, Leah, Christine and John.
