Peggy Sutton Jackson BHS’63 went home to her Lord early this morning in Kingman, Arizona, surrounded by her loving family.
Peggy was born on September 27, 1945, to Rosalie Griswold Sutton and Thomas Ross Sutton in Burbank, California. Though she moved a lot in her younger years, by the time she was ready to go to high school, she and her brother, Jerry Ross Sutton BHS ’62, were living in Burbank and attended Burbank High for all three years where she loved singing in Mr. Hall’s chorus and having a role in MUSIC MAN.
The best thing that happened to her in high school was meeting one of her brother’s very good friends, Merrill Jay Jackson BHS ’62. They began dating the end of her junior year and were married a little more than a year after she graduated from high school, on October 16, 1964. This October would have been the 60th wedding anniversary of their very successful life together.
Peggy and Merrill raised two fine boys, Jay and Andy. Sadly, Andy died in a motorcycle accident in 2001. Jay blessed his mother with three grandchildren, Heather and Kayla Rose, the girls she always longed to have, and Eddie her handsome grandson.
Peggy was always kind, generous and loving and she will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
