My brother Frank Forlano BHS 1980 passed away on June 30, 2025 in Palm Springs CA. He’d lived on & off down here in the desert with stints in Lake Tahoe, Puerto Rico, San Diego & Sacramento. He loved music & had a band at his community clubhouse. He loved to argue, watch Book TV and was basically a character.

Heartbreaking News - Mendi Enochs Leggett of Burbank High Class of 1980 passed away in a car accident in Texas a few days ago. The condition of her husband Danny, who attended JBHS, is currently unknown. Mindi is survived by her older sister Eydie Enochs (BHS '76) and brother Dale Enochs (BHS '81). Her parents were the owners of Enochs Muffler. My sincerest condolences to her family, prayers and healing thoughts for Danny Leggett.

Southwest Austin crash: APD identify woman killed

One person is dead and two others were hospitalized following a crash in SW Austin. 63-year-old Mendi Leggett died at the scene of the crash. Two others in her vehicle were injured and taken to a local hospital. It is still unknown what exactly caused the crash. 

AUSTIN, Texas - Austin police have identified a woman killed in Sunday's crash in Southwest Austin. 63-year-old Mendi Leggett died at the scene of the crash that happened on April 6 just after 2:30 p.m. The crash happened between two vehicles at the intersection of Lost Creek Boulevard and Loop 360, just south of Bee Caves Road. Two other people in the vehicle with Leggett were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were not injured. APD says the uninjured driver was not impaired and both driver and passenger have cooperated with the investigation. This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 23rd fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 27 fatalities. This investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE APRIL 11, 2025

We just learned that Danny Leggett is in ICU with serious injuries and now knows about his wife so please keep him in your prayers along with all their family and loved ones. Also their uber driver has been in ICU with serious injuries. The person driving the other vehicle and his passenger were fine.

My heart was broken when I found out the news of Mendi. I knew something was wrong when she didn't answer my text wishing her a Happy Mother's Day. Mendi was like a sister to me. I was constantly at her and her family's house growing up, spending the night on weekdays and weekends. I was best friends with her brother Dale, we raced BMX bikes together. When I found out of her passing I spoke to her daughter, she gave me an update that Danny, Mendi's husband was out of the hospital and going through therapy. Her daughter Kearsten said it was still so hard for all of them. I spoke to Eydie and gave her my condolences, Dale still does not know of Mendi's passing, he has basically fallen off the earth. Mendi was always a sweetheart and will be loved and missed. May she rest in peace!

Dearest Friends and Family, it is with profound sadness that we let you know that the inimitable, ever-loving, kind, wise, gentle, creative, talented, funny, Chris/Christie Hogeland died unexpectedly (and without suffering) early on Sunday September 24th after a food (including a delicious shrimp/lime/cilantro salad Chris made) and fun filled evening with several good friends.

 

There will be a memorial art show in her honor to occur in the months ahead; details to be posted here. Donations to the Marfan Foundation https://marfan.org or to Housing Matters https://housingmatterssc.org are welcome.

If you ever had the privilege of meeting her you know she made a difference in your life for the positive. She raised 4 beautiful children who will pass on her legacy. Hi everyone. My name's Kelsey. My Mom is Heather.

2 years ago my mom had some type of stroke and because of the amount of time she was down, she had a little bit of brain damage. After almost 3 Years of fighting, she finally let go.

I'm an only child and I miss my mom sooooo much. Prayers needed and I appreciate all the good memories and photos are greatly appreciated.
