FEBRUARY 3, 2023 UPDATE
Today we received a lovely email from David King, brother of Wallace, which we will post here. We corrected our entry which showed Wallace as a 1955 grad and it should have been 1954.

Dear Cathy,

Thank you for maintaining the Burbank High Blog. I am from the BHS Class of 1960. I married Joyce Powers BHS ’61 in 1964. Joyce and I had lockers across the hall from each other in the auditorium building. After graduation from Brigham Young University in 1967, we returned to Burbank to make a home and raise six children. Four of them, Lance, Cynthia, Wendy, and David graduated from BHS also. 1960 was the 50th anniversary year for BHS. I was the managing partner of a CPA firm in Burbank until 2003 when we gave up metropolitan for the country in Nauvoo, Illinois. We purchased 20 acres and build our dream home on the property just a mile from the Mississippi River. See the attached photo. We have fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
My sister, Sharon King Mortenson ’59, passed away recently and I noted her information is in your blog and in the recent issue of Senior Bulldogs Newsletter. Thank you. My older brother, Wallace B. King, was in the BHS Class of 1954. He passed away in 2017. His information does not appear in the blog except for his senior photo in the copy of the 1954 Ceralbus in your blog. Perhaps I can give you some information now that you can post to the blog and perhaps get into the Senior Bulldogs Newsletter. His wife, Prisca, was also a BHS grad, class of ’61. They married in 1961. See the attached resume and obituary for Wallace. Wallace was a track star at BHS. He holds the school record for the longest softball throw. He was a prolific writer. See the attached Memorial Service program and the lyrics he wrote for the popular tone, My Way, made popular by Frank Sinatra.

If any other information would be helpful, let me know.

Sincerely,
David King
