We just learned of the passing of Fred Furry and Ron Mosher...
“My brother Fred Furry passed away in June. He graduated in 1954 from Burbank High School. Unfortunately, my husband, Ron Mosher, passed away in January of this year. He graduated in 1964. Sadly, we just learned that John Borg, BHS '63, passed away yesterday afternoon.
A tumor was found on his liver at the beginning of November and he had dialysis for kidney failure.
John was the son of Laverne and Ivy Borg. Born in Indiana, he was brother to Linda Borg Plue, BHS '60 who passed in 1987 and Jim Borg, BHS '65 who passed in 1969.

Charles Dana Pereau, BHS 1947
October 2, 1929 - October 26, 2024
"'A life well lived." That is how the family describes their father, grandfather & great-grandfather. Chuck passed away on 10-26-24 at the age of 95, surrounded by family and friends, including his wife of 75 years, Charla, and son-in-law, Denny Lombard, BHS 67.
Following a career as an LA Fire Fighter, Chuck dedicated the rest of his life to serving the Christian mission he and Charla co-founded in Baja Mexico. In 1966 they formed Foundation For His Ministry in Vincente Guerrero, which eventually included an orphanage, hospital, K-12 school, plus fed and cared for children left alone in the encampments. Two additional missions were created n Oaxaca and Sinaloa, as well as transitional housing for young adults in Tijuana and housing to provide support for men following drug & addition recovery, release from prison &/or being deported from the US. Chuck made the 178 mile journey almost weekly to deliver truckloads of donations to the missions as long as he was able, and then he took charge of sending out their monthly newsletter ... truly a life well lived!

A Bardstown resident, Mr. Terry David Welshans age 76 passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the Robley Rex VAMC Hospital in Louisville. He was born on November 8, 1946 in Charles City, Iowa to the late Ira Daniel and Mildred Irene Jenkins Welshans. Terry was retired from the Chicago Metra Commuter Railroad where he retired as their Mechanical Instructor. When he and Carolyn moved to Bardstown he became involved with Samuels Airport where he was on the Board of Directors. He was also involved with the KY Pilots Association where he was an advisor and tutor to many students. Another part of Bardstown he loved was the Bourbon Industry and for a time he had a business where he gave tours by plane over the distilleries. Terry was also a veteran of the United States Army and a KY Colonel.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Janice MaCleay.
Terry is survived by his wife, Patricia “Carolyn” Jessie Welshans, his son, Daniel (Karla) Welshans of LaGrange, his daughter, Cindy (Matthew) Lyon of Louisville and 2 grandchildren, Ashyianae and Lee.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home. Interment will be in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00-8:00pm and after 8:30am Wednesday at the Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that NO flowers be sent and contributions be made to the KY Pilot Association in his memory.

OBITUARY
Our beloved Carolyn Jonas Harmer passed away on August 3, 2015. Carolyn was born March 30, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York, to her adoring parents, Claudia Cannon and Marwin Frederick Jonas. She was raised in Glendale and Burbank, California where she graduated from Burbank High School. She graduated from the University of Utah where she was elected Student Body Secretary, Senior Class Vice President, President of her sorority Delta Gamma, and President of Panhellenic. She was named to Beehive Honor Society and Mortar Board. Carolyn earned a BA in English and later earned a Masters Degree in English from Los Angeles State University. She taught high school English in Glendale, CA and Montgomery County, Maryland.
Carolyn married John L. Harmer June 24, 1960 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple, and they lived in Maryland and California before moving to Bountiful, Utah. Carolyn was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and treasured her testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She served in the presidencies and as a teacher in Primary, Young Women and Relief Society Organizations. She also taught Gospel Doctrine, served as Girl’s Camp director, served as a Cub Scout and Webelos leader, and was a merit badge counselor for many years. Carolyn loved music and taught piano lessons for over 30 years. She played the organ in the Bountiful temple for 19 years and served as a Ward organist for over 65 years. She loved directing music in Primary and was a Ward Choir director in 3 different wards. Most of all, Carolyn loved hearing her children and grandchildren sing together. She devoted her life to us, and we will be forever grateful for her unconditional love and selfless service.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, John L. Harmer, her 10 remarkable [her words] children whom she loved dearly, David (Elayne Wells), Matthew (Stacy Larsen), Vivian (Mark Ellsworth), Christopher (Roshelle Davis), Elizabeth (Keith Dionne), Joseph (Christina Vistaunet), Jonathan (Lynnelle Pyper), Amy Marie (Jon Cox), Miriam Anne, Wendy Bryn (Micah McOwen) and 34 adored grandchildren, with her 35 th grandchild arriving in a few weeks and her first great-grandchild due to arrive in November. Carolyn is also survived by her loving siblings, Jeffrey Cannon Jonas (Judy Hale), Marianne (Steve Eastmond), and Penelope Barth and many treasured nieces and nephews. Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved parents and a precious granddaughter, Olivia Grace Harmer.
The family wishes to thank the kind and caring staff, nurses and doctors at LDS Hospital, and the hospice aides and nurses for their support during the past 3 weeks.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 10, 2015 at the Bountiful, Utah Mueller Park Stake Center, 1800 East Mueller Park Road. Visitation will be at the Stake Center from 9:00 – 11am, with funeral proceedings to follow at 11:30am. Interment Lakeview Memorial, Bountiful, Utah. Services under the direction of Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.

Richard and Russell were the sons of Theodore and Anna Kofity Tobias. Richard graduated from Burbank High in 1962 and Russell graduated in 1965. They have a younger sister, Rosanne Tobias, who graduated in 1967.

I received a message from Dale Loyola's sister, Pat Loyola Frith-Smith - BHS 59, to let us know that Dale died in a car accident in Arizona on November 12, 2023. He was still playing his drums at 76, and was in too many bands to list - some famous and some not; the last being the Cactus Wine Band in AZ. He is greatly missed by his two nieces and sister, Pat.

Dale Loyola-Drummer
Dale Loyola started his musical career during the rock `n roll phenomena of the late 60's in Hollywood and San Francisco, where he learned his craft playing with blues and rhythm & blues bands. An immediate success, he expanded his horizons to several styles. His career has seen him play at such venues as the Whisky A Go-Go, the Fillmore West, the Cow Palace, the Rose Bowl and the Cheetah, performing with musical legends Dobie Gray, The Hook, The Doors, Boz Skaggs, Paul Butterfield, Andy Williams, Elvin Bishop, Sinbad and Ray Charles, to name a few.
To date Dale has performed in 22 states and 11 foreign countries, including Hawaii, Alaska, Scandinavia, Las Vegas, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. He has done studio recording for Capitol, UNI, A&M and Motown Records, written the award-winning song, Best of Times, and co-wrote/co-produced several independent productions. During all this, he even found time for a part in the movie Jurassic Park. Wherever he plays, he brings a unique feel and drive to each performance, as well as a soulful, sardonic and playful vocal style.
Currently Da Mule (a nickname given Dale while living in Hawaii) is appearing in Reno with The Method and In2It. With his powerful rhythmic drive and self-demanding style, he's enthusiastically laying down tracks of one of his favorite forms of music, Good old rock'n'roll!

So sorry to learn of the passing of Bill Allan...
Our friend and Classmate, Bill Allan, passed away today after a tough struggle with cancer. Bill was a resident of Sulphur Springs, Texas. He was a U.S. Marine, licensed pilot, a cowboy/rancher, a realtor, elected the local Constable more than once, sang in the church choir and so much more.
Bill was the loving father of Susan, Sharon, Travis and Trevor (R.I.P) and his pup, Ladydeigh…
Bill was a good guy and loved by so many. He will truly be missed.
William Bruce Allan of Dike Texas passed away peacefully at home on November 7, 2024, surrounded by his family and his beloved rescue dog Laydeigh.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Susan Allan Croft and husband Thomas of Springtown, Sharon Allan Mayo of Ft Worth, and his son Travis Allan of Denton. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Cody and wife Haley, Carson Croft, Cooper Croft, Austin Allan, Kaci Allan, and Jordan Mayo; nieces Miera Nagy and Emily Adams; nephews, John Stone and Andy Stone
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Florence Allan of Burbank California, his son Trevor Allan of Sulphur Springs, his sister Betty Stone of Boonesville, Arkansas, niece Jenni Stone Murillo, and his old roping horse Zip.
Bill was born in Montreal, Canada in 1946. He spent his early years in Canada but moved to California during his teen years where he graduated from Burbank High School and Cal Poly Technic State University. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1967 following a motorcycle accident.
Among his first of many careers, he was a dairy farmer and Ag teacher in Newport, Vermont. After moving to Texas in 1974, he continued in the dairy business and began a career in Farm and Ranch Real Estate. He sold the dairy in the mid 90’s and entered the realm of law enforcement as member of the Hopkins County Sheriff’s posse, later entering the police academy and becoming a sheriff’s deputy. He later took on the role of Hopkins County Constable and enjoyed eight years of service, making many friends (and a few enemies) along the way. His final career choice landed him as the court Bailiff for Hopkins County. He retired (officially) in 2020, but still enjoyed filling in at the court when needed.
Never one to meet a stranger, Bill enjoyed his church families at St James Catholic Church for many years and in recent years at Sulphur Spring First Baptist. He spent time singing and playing the guitar in each choir and kept his fellow Sunday School members laughing and smiling with his quick wit and silly jokes.
Bill loved to travel and see new things. He especially enjoyed his annual beach trips with his children and grandchildren where they spent every day on the beach and every evening as a family, watching movies or playing games on the deck. He had traveled to every state in America, with the exception of Alaska. Road trips with the grandkids were another of his favorite ways to see the sights and he spent many hours allowing them to choose the routes and the sights to see.
He will be remembered as a loving and proud father, grandfather, and a friend to everyone he met. He lived his motto of “be kind to people and they’ll be kind to you.”
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov 9th from 5:00-7:00pm at West Oaks Funeral Home with services Sunday Nov 10th at 2:00pm also at West Oaks. Burial will follow at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery.
